TULAD ng inaasahan, mabilis na naipasa ng Senado ang panukalang budget ng Office of the President (OP).

Walang naging pagtutol sa mga senador ang budget ng OP na si Senador Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go ang nagtanggol bilang sponsor ng panukala.

“Rest assured, I will safeguard the interests of the public by ensuring proper checks and balances. Every centavo must be wisely spent to help and support the Filipino nation. It is the people’s money and it is just right that the government should give it back to them,” ayon kay Go sa pagtatanggol sa pondo ng OP na P8.2 bilyon.

Idinagdag pa ni Go na nagawa ng Pangulo ang pagnanais ng mga Pilipino para sa isang makatarungang at matapat na pinuno “sa pamamagitan ng paglalagay ng platform ng pamamahala na nakasentro sa pakikipaglaban sa iligal na droga, katiwalian at kriminalidad.”

“Therefore, I have no doubt that President Duterte’s office is using its budget solely for the benefit of the Filipino people,” ayon pa dito.
